Got about another 1250 words or so tonight. Not as much as I’d hoped, but I will definitely take it. I’m hoping to really pound out the words this weekend and come close to finishing, or maybe even hitting the end. May as well aim high!

Woo! Almost 80% done!
Yuck. Last night wicked storms blew through the St. Louis area. It was quite nasty. A tornado touched down about 10 minutes from our house. Our storm sirens went off so we scurried down to the basement and huddled down there for awhile. The canopy we have on our patio in the back fell over thanks to the wind, but husband thinks he can repair it. We have a very large branch down in our backyard, but fortunately it didn’t damage anything. We got lucky, plenty of other people had much more damage from fallen trees and the wind. We were without power from 7:45 p.m. to 7:20 a.m. I’m so glad that the power is back on. You take a.c. for granted until it’s 90-100 degrees in July and you’re without it! I feel for all the people who are still without power, especially since some predictions call for certain areas being without power for up to 3 days. I hope that those who can take shelter with relatives and friends with power, and those who can’t take advantage of all the cooling stations set up in the area. The governore declared a state of emergency and they’re sending in the National Guard. 360,000 people are still without power.
I planned to write from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. last night. Needless to say, that didn’t happen. *sigh* Hoping to have better luck tonight! And hoping that the predicted storms for today/tonight do not end up being nearly as nasty as last night’s storms.
Ugh…they just issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9:43 this morning. Great.
Well, hopefully it doesn’t turn out TOO bad!
