Writing at the sandwich shop went well. I got in about 1700 words of plotting plus around 1,000 words on the actual WIP. The plot is really shaping up and meshes well with what I had already planned. I also think I have a fairly unique concept here, which is exciting. Now I just need to finish it so I can shop it around! Which of course requires massive amounts of Butt in Chair. Hopefully I can find at least a little of that every day. Until school and work start up in two weeks…then I’ll just have to fit it in as I’m able…
So I’m at the sandwich shop right now while my wondermous husband takes care of baby. Last night at 3:00 am when Zack woke us up and I couldn’t get back to sleep right away I did some brainstorming on my stalled WIP. Part of the problem lately has been my lack of time–baby is very needy still. But the other part was when I DID have time I just couldn’t pick up much speed on the WIP. I think last night’s brainstorming session solved that problem as I got a LOT of the plot worked out and now know where I need to go. Other than just a vague general plot idea, I mean.
So, here’s to getting lots of words in and having a big fat word count bar to update with later!
So I really need to start posting more often again. Life is busy but good, although I’m not finding as much time to write as I had hoped. Still working on it, though. Zack is visiting with Grandma this weekend (his first trip away from us in 6 weeks) and she was SO excited when I dropped him off yesterday. So was Aunt Kelsey, my 16-year-old sister. They should have a lot of fun. Husband and I had a TON of fun last night…getting a full night of sleep! What did you think I was going to say? =)
We have a movie marathon planned today. Going to the cheap theater to see Harry Potter Goblet of Fire, King Kong, and maybe something else. And gonna have dinner like two adults later this afternoon. Whee!
Hopefully I’ll have time to write this evening. For now, must go help husband clean.
I’m not dead, but Zackary has turned into a particularly demanding child (not so much Mr. Mellow anymore) so having time to myself is pretty much a no go right now. Husband helps with him on the evenings and weekends but I have him each night and weekday and barely get time to eat, let alone do anything extra like log on the internet or write. Shoot, I’m lucky to get a shower in every other day or two right now. Don’t get me wrong, I love the little guy fiercely, but I am definitely looking forward to his getting a bit older and hopefully not quite so needy.
At any rate, I’m making an effort to get more writing done on the current WIP, and hopefully will have more to report soon.
